Some extra materials for the weekend

Everybody should listen to this video (it has English subtitles).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbMSc5btyuA

Listen to it several times understanding the main ideas.

nb. You don't need to pay much attention to the very beginning or the end.

Concentrate on the time from 1.30 to 11.10

We'll discuss it next week in class.

Here is a link to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) which is mentioned in the video.

Also, here as the link to Greek and Latin roots used in English words (much of Academic English uses words made up of Greek and Latin roots).

Class tomorrow, January 11, 2023

 Added: Here is dialogue 3!

Hello, I am planning on having class tomorrow (Wednesday, 13.15-14.45) although I'm not sure where the class will be yet.

I apologize for not posting the information on academic English. I've been a little sick (nothing serious but it made it harder to work).

Here is the link to those materials.

Like last week you'll be able to find me around 216B (in the institute) and we'll find a classroom.

We'll start looking at these abstracts tomorrow as well.

See y'all in class!

Class Tomorrow, January 04, 2023

Okay, we'll have class tomorrow, Wednesday (January 04, 2023). The class will begin at 13.15 and last until14.45.

I'm not sure where the class will be exactly. I'll leave a note on the door of 216B (my office next to the office of Professor Koutny) by 13.10 or so. I'll also text a few students.

We'll spend a little time on the dialogues we've had so far and start something new as well.

Materials will be posted after class.

See y'all in class.
